Bycatch Working Group | Oil Spill Working Group | Distribution & Abundance Working Group

The charge of this working group is to explore the relationship between fisheries bycatch and marine bird populations. The working group is focusing on analyzing information on fisheries bycatch in the northeast and mid-Atlantic fisheries, analyzing information on the age and gender of birds caught in fisheries, improving information collected by observers on fisheries vessels, and improving coordination between fisheries and bird managers.

Common Loons are susceptible to bycatch.
